Located at the corner of Rue Charleroi and Avenue de l’Archevêque, this project transforms a former gas station site into a green and refreshing living space. Driven by a multidisciplinary collaboration, bold and distinctive interventions are designed to foster gathering, relaxation, and community engagement, contributing to the revitalization of the Charleroi commercial district.

A moment under the pergola

The project incorporates both functional and distinctive industrial design elements. A pergola equipped with swings creates a welcoming and dynamic shaded area, offering comfort and coolness during the summer months.

Place Charlevêque is part of an urban renewal project, transforming a welcoming and vibrant public space. Conceived as a green and refreshing haven, the design encourages slowing down, interaction, and community engagement, while simultaneously enhancing the appeal of the Charleroi commercial district.

The Morris column, a vertical and illuminated landmark, serves as a visual anchor and communication tool for the neighborhood.

A series of modular urban objects has been designed for installation along Charleroi Avenue, helping to improve everyday life by providing shade, seating, and showcasing local businesses.

Slowing down, together

Developed in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, the project is based on a simple, sustainable, and accessible design that supports everyday use and contributes to the social and economic vitality of Montreal North.

Urban Biodiversity

Recycled logs were used to build habitats that encourage cohabitation with insects as well as reptiles and frogs.

To further enhance green spaces and biodiversity, the site features native plants and insect hotels, contributing to a thriving local ecosystem and environmental education for visitors. In line with a spirit of reuse and continuity with existing practices, the logs already present on the site from a temporary installation were recycled.
